What batteries do you recommend for myHummy?

It is extremely important to use good quality batteries to enjoy myHummy at its best. We have tested many battery brands and our recommended ones are:

Single-use / disposable batteries:

- Energizer (especially Ultimate Lithium batteries)
- Maxell (alkaline)
- Varta (alkaline)

Rechargeable batteries:
- Panasonic Eneloop and Eneloop Pro

My baby is 6 (7, 8, 9+ ) months old. Is it worth getting a myHummy at this stage or is it too late to start?

The age recommendation for myHummy is 0+ and we have received a lot of positive feedback from parents of older babies. It is never too late to try white and pink noise. In fact, people of all ages use it as a sleep aid. White and pink noise has a lulling effect but also masks other sounds, so babies (and older children as well as adults) are less likely to wake up as a result of noise. You may need to try different sounds and volumes, but it is definitely worth a go!

Will white noise work for my baby?

You can try playing YouTube videos of white and pink noise first to see if your little one is receptive to the sounds. Try a few different videos and volumes, for many babies white noise is most effective when played quite loud, up to 50 decibels - this is the maximum volume recommended by many paediatricians. You can also try playing the sound continuously through the night as some babies get startled when the white noise stops - myHummy can play continuously through the night! If you find that your little one is a lover of white noise, then myHummy is a great choice for you!

What are the myHummy sounds like?

You can hear all myHummy sounds here. The sounds of myHummy are electronically generated which allows for longer battery life and also for the continuity of sound. The sounds include white noise, pink noise, amniotic fluid with heartbeat, ocean waves, and rainfall. These sounds have been carefully selected and are very effective at helping babies sleep. They may sound very similar to us but your baby will soon find a favourite!

The sound on myHummy stops abruptly / doesn't remember the volume / Sleep Sensor doesn't work.

It looks like the batteries are depleted. Try inserting new batteries of good quality - we recommend single-use Energizer, Maxell or Varta batteries. If using rechargeable batteries, please make sure they are fully charged and that all batteries have the same charge level. It is also worth checking the expiry date on batteries.

Please note: It is extremely important to use good quality batteries to avoid performance issues and having to change them often.

The Sleep Sensor doesn't work.

Only Sleep Sensor and Bluetooth models feature Sleep Sensor. If you have any doubts about the model you ordered, please get in touch at hello@myhummy.co.uk and we'll be happy to assist you.

I can't connect to the app!

The myHummy app only works with the Bluetooth model of the Humming Heart. This is a green heart-shaped heart with a white bear’s face on the front.

How do Bluetooth models work?

Please visit the myHummy App section of our website to find out about the myHummy app and read the App FAQs.

How do you activate the non-stop mode?

Only Sleep Sensor and Bluetooth models feature non-stop mode. To activate the non-stop mode press the button 3 times quickly. To switch back to the Sleep Sensor mode, turn myHummy off and on again. It reverts back to the Sleep Sensor mode when restarted. Here is a short video tutorial on how to use myHummy.

What's the max volume of myHummy?

myHummy products are certified and safe to use from birth. The maximum volume reaches 50 decibels (measured from approximately 50 cm).

Does myHummy interfere with Angelcare Sensor Pads?

Angelcare advises against using any products that contain batteries if they are placed on the mattress or attached to the cot, when using a Sensor Pad. Therefore, we recommend placing your myHummy outside the cot if using the Angelcare Sensor Pad. myHummy’s Sleep Sensor will still pick up on your baby’s whimpers if placed near the cot. For more information about Angelcare Sensor Pads, please refer to the Angelcare's website.
