FAQ

My baby is 6 (7, 8, 9+ ) months old. Is it worth getting a myHummy at this stage or is it too late to start?

The age recommendation for myHummy is 0-3 years and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from parents of older babies. It is never too late to try white noise. In fact, people of all ages use it as a sleep aid. White noise has a lulling effect but also masks other sounds, so babies (and older children as well as adults) are less likely to wake up as a result of noise. You may need to try different sounds and volumes, but it's definitely worth a go!

What are the myHummy sounds like?

You can hear all the sounds in this video (you can fast forward to about 1:20min). The white noise sounds of myHummy are electronically generated which allows for longer battery life and also for the continuity of sound. The sounds resemble: amniotic fluid with heartbeat, ocean waves, rainfall, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner. The ultimate goal is that the sounds are very effective at helping babies sleep, they may sound very similar to us but your baby will soon find their favourite!

What is the volume of myHummy?

MyHummy, when played at its loudest setting reaches about 50 decibels, when measured from approximately 1 metre. 50dB is the maximum volume recommended by many paediatricians. MyHummy toys meet all European safety standards for toys suitable from birth. You can turn the volume up and down by long-pressing the button until the desired volume is reached.

How do you activate the non-stop mode?

To activate the non-stop mode press the button 3 times quickly. To switch back to the Sleep Sensor mode, click 3 times again, or turn myHummy off and on again. It reverts back to the Sleep Sensor mode when restarted. Here is a short video tutorial on how to use myHummy.

The sound on myHummy stops abruptly / doesn't remember the volume / Sleep Sensor doesn't work.

It looks like the batteries are depleted. Try inserting new / fully charged batteries of good quality - we recommend Duracell Ultra Power. It is also worth checking the expiry date on batteries. In the long run, consider using high capacity, rechargeable batteries such as Panasonic Eneloop Pro.

Please note: It is extremely important to use good quality batteries to avoid performance issues and having to change them often.
